Designer Wallpapers for Walls - Baneby Gates

Commissioned by Peter Saville for Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio: Fashion Revolution, an exhibition held at Somerset House in conjunction with London Fashion Week 2009, the design makes explicit references to Japanese rope suspension bondage in a French 18th century Toile De Jouy style.

Barneby Gates worked with the team at SHOWstudio to turn Verhoeven’s design into a workable pattern repeat, advised on printing technique and finishes, and finally put the wallpaper into production in time for the exhibition. Roll Dimensions: 52cm x 10m. Available from showstudio.com
